Blue Box have been involved with the sound in Space for eight years. Introduced by Darren Hughes from ‘We love’ they have been fitting out a new room each year with their own system designs using Funktion One loudspeakers (largely regarded as the best dance speakers in the world), MC2 amplifiers and XTA digital controllers. Blue Box have spent years refining the component parts into a system that is as reliable as it is powerful. Thanks to excellent acoustic treatment in the main room at Space the sound is as good as possible. The main room is updated every year to make the most of new technology as it becomes available. Last year saw the introduction of the self powered F221 bass cabinets (containing 2 x 21” loudspeakers) which accurately deliver copious amounts of deep bass, ideal for dance music. This year will see the introduction of XTA’s latest controller, the DP 446, with it’s improved algorithms and digital inputs which will be coupled with a more complete digital signal path from the DJ booth.
